Doisneau
A photojournalist, Robert Doisneau documented the French Resistance, shooting iconic images of Paris’ Occupation and Liberation. After the war he was known for realistically portraying the everyday lives of ordinary people. Doisneau provided images of hope after the dark days of World War II. His iconic “Le Baiser de l’Hotel de Ville, Paris, 1950” captures the eternity of a passionate kiss that transcends time and locale.
Doisneau: Simple and clean in design with square spine binding. Unpadded covers are used to create clean lines around the album. For a more contemporary look, these pages have no protective edging or corners and I supply in black - Timeless.

Ronis
Willy Ronis was the last of a generation of French photographers who were central to the medium’s development during the 20th century. Ronis showed in the tender expressiveness he brought to his images that photography could be an art form, rather than the mere mechanical reproduction of life that it was considered in its infancy. His iconic Nu provençal (Provençal nude) showed his wife Marie-Anne washing at a basin with a water pitcher on the floor and an open window through which the viewer can see a garden, capturing an easy feeling of Provençal life. The image went on to be a best seller, when I first saw it I was mesmerised by its artistic simplicity. My favourite Willy Ronis image was of a couple stood on a balcony overlooking the Bastille entitled Les Amoureux de la Bastille.
